  1. Mist Extinguisher: This fire extinguisher is painted red over white. These are smaller in size as compared to the usual water extinguishers. These contain very fine components of microscopic demineralized dry water particles. These are used to curb class A, B, C, and F types of fires. These operate by cutting the fire and absorbing the oxygen supply. The advantage of these fire extinguishers is that these can be recycled.  

  1. Foam Extinguisher: Whenever a solid or a liquid substance catches fire, foam extinguishers come in handy. It is ineffective on burning fats and cooking oils. These can also be used to curb electrical fires if fired from a distance of minimum 1 meter.  

  1. CO2 Extinguisher: These fire extinguishers are anti-residue, this means that these do not leave any residue when used. CO2 extinguishers contain pressurized carbon dioxide gas and are used to curb fire from burning liquid materials.
